An implant is an artificial tooth root that later carries a crown. Neighbouring teeth are usually not ground down, bone is preserved better than under a removable denture; the goal is a natural look in your smile — the final result depends on the plan and healing. If almost no teeth remain on the jaw — the dentist may consider All-on-4 or All-on-6. That is a separate talk and a different plan, not “four cheap implants instead of one”. Right now the focus is an honest plan for one or several teeth — not All-on as the first offer.

Like any surgery, implantation carries risks: the implant may fail to integrate, and inflammation can later develop around it. This is uncommon but possible — so before surgery the surgeon walks through the risks of your specific case with you, and afterwards you need regular check-ups and professional hygiene.
Why we do not play “from €500”
Ads often show one European “turnkey” figure. Without a scan nobody honestly knows if bone grafting is needed, which abutment, or which crown. Implantation FAQ
Does implant placement hurt?
The operation is under local anaesthesia. Many patients compare the feeling to ordinary tooth treatment. Discomfort for 1–2 days afterwards is possible — the dentist advises how to ease it. Sensitivity varies.
How long does implantation take?
Placing one implant usually takes 30–60 minutes. The full cycle with a permanent crown is about 3 to 6 months depending on healing.
Are there contraindications?
Some limits are temporary and resolve with preparation; some truly rule out surgery. We do not perform planned implantation during oncology treatment with antiresorptive or antiangiogenic drugs, and after jaw irradiation the decision is made separately together with your treating physician. Uncontrolled diabetes, active gum inflammation, certain blood and bone diseases, smoking, and pregnancy do not always mean “no”, but they change the plan and timing. Tell us about every medicine you take regularly — that affects the decision more than the scan alone.
What if there is not enough bone?
When indicated we perform sinus lift and bone grafting. These are separate estimate lines — not in the ≈ UAH 16,850 ballpark.

When is bone grafting needed?
When CBCT shows bone volume or quality is insufficient for a stable implant. The decision follows the scan, not an ad banner. Grafting is a separate estimate line (it is not in the ≈ UAH 16,850 guide price — that covers the Osstem placement stage only).
What is Osstem in our line?
Osstem is the implant system we use as the baseline orientation in our price list. At the consultation we explain why we chose it for your case and which alternatives make sense. We do not claim “the best implant in Lviv”.
Can implantation be done on the day of extraction?
