Prosthetics is not veneers “for looks”. It is a crown on your own tooth, a bridge, or a removable or implant-supported denture. If the root can be saved or an implant placed — we say so; if not, we choose a restoration that stays put and chews.

Why prosthetics at Dental Story

Materials matched to the job

Ceramic crowns, zirconia crowns, veneers, composite and ceramic inlays — pros, cons and price before we start.

Digital impressions

A scan instead of the classic tray of putty when it fits — more precise and calmer for the patient.

Try-in, not a parcel

We check the bite and shade in the chair — not “it will arrive in the post and somehow fit”.

The full cycle in one clinic

Therapy, surgery, and prosthetics at 10 Sumska St.: we do not send you across the city.

How prosthetics works

  1. 1

    Exam and images

We assess what is left of the tooth and whether the bone will hold.

  2. 2

    Plan and quote

We choose the restoration, material, and stages. The price is agreed before we start.

  3. 3

    Preparation

Root-canal treatment, a core, or a temporary crown — so the final piece sits on a ready base.

  4. 4

    Try-in and cementation

We check shade, contacts, and bite, then cement permanently.

Prosthetics FAQ

Crown or implant?

If the root is sound — a crown is often enough. If the tooth is gone — an implant does not grind down the neighbours. A bridge costs less than an implant but leans on adjacent teeth. We choose after an image.

How long does a crown last?

With hygiene and check-ups — years, often more than ten. It depends on the material, the bite, and whether you chew packets and thread.

Can a denture replace implants?

Yes, if implants are contraindicated or the budget is different. Modern removable work holds better than a 1990s “false jaw” — but chewing is still weaker than a fixed crown.

Must a tooth be root-treated under a crown?

Not always. A vital tooth under a crown has a better outlook. We treat canals when there is inflammation or a risk the pulp will not survive preparation.

How is this different from veneers?

A veneer covers the front of a relatively intact tooth. A crown wraps the whole tooth when little wall is left. Different jobs — not a “dearer” and “cheaper” version of the same thing.
